“Great skiing, made easy.”

  • What is great skiing?

During the course you will learn the fundamentals of Rookies ski technique - because understanding what you are meant to do is just as important as actually doing it. Learning how and when to make the right movements will create great skiing!

Through the use of video analysis to highlight your strengths and weaknesses, we work with you to develop the specific skills needed to improve your technique.

  • Having the right equipment

Having the right boots, skis and poles plays a very important role in making skiing easier in all mountain terrain.

Wether it’s making sure you have the correct fitting boots, the best shaped ski for your course or the right length poles for your skiing, let us help you in your decision.

  • Rookies Culture

Our trainers are all highly skilled at creating a safe and fun learning environment which will allow you to get the most out of your training.

While we take what we do seriously, at the end of the day it is just skiing - it should be all about having a good time in an awesome mountain environment - making memories, learning new skills and creating lifelong friendships as we all grow positively in the Rookies culture.

  • Pre-season prep

Like all sports, the more you put in the more you will get out, and this absolutely applies to your physical preparation for Rookies training.

Not only is it important for endurance, strength and stamina, but more importantly, for injury prevention!

To get the most out of your Rookies camp we definitely recommend putting in some hours of pre-season training.

What to expect on a Rookies camp

  • Inspirational learning environment.

Safety, fun and achievement are the rules of the game - our trainers are the best in the business and are experts at creating a learning environment that will help you achieve your goals.

  • Skills based training.

Building skills and versatility is the foundation of our ski & snowboard instructor courses. We help you create an understanding of what the ideal is, which in turn helps identify what skills need developing and lastly we tactically apply these skills to a given situation. This on-snow training is backed up with off snow clinics and technical analysis sessions.

  • Training 20+hrs a week.

We train 4 days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Each training day consists of a morning session, lunch break and an afternoon session. Mornings tend to have a more technical focus with the afternoons being more about mileage and using awesome terrain to challenge your skills.

  • Passion for teaching.

At Rookies we’ve delivered over 29 years of superb ski training excellence and knowhow. Teaching is a skill you must master in its own right - any professional instructor must have a passion for teaching as much as they do for skiing or riding. At Rookies you will develop the essential skills required to become an inspirational instructor.

  • Self analysis.

Through a greater knowledge of the ideal skiing or riding technique and learning theory, your increased understanding of the sport will help you analyze your own performance. You’ll be able to continue your own improvement long after your course.

  • The Rookies network.

The Social aspect plays an important role in you getting the most out of your week, hanging out with passionate like-minded people just adds to the experience.
