  • Qualifications & professional achievements

    - Just skiing? Then I have my NZSIA Trainers Cert (being the highest qual.) BSc in Zoology and Psychology if not...

  • Why I love Treble Cone

    - The most epic terrain, the chilled out vibe or staff and cafe culture alike, the most insane views of anywhere in the world, and the fact it's all serviced by 2 lifts - did I mention the epic terrain?

  • Why I love working for the Rookie Academy

    - Throughout the years, the Rookie Academy has led the way in the global skiing industry as being an incredibly unique, professional, fun and favoured ski training program based here in NZ. The level of coaches, the mountain we're based on (Treble Cone in Wanaka), the terrain we ski (and the way in which we do it), coupled with the sheer number of repeat and returning 'Rookie family' clientele means it's by far the best ski instructor training and improvement program out there!

  • What’s one piece of advice to anyone trying to improve their skiing?

    - Take the time and commit a couple of days at the start of your season/ski holiday to get some instruction/training... it's the best way to set yourself up for success. You'll have some great ski technique focus, you'll get some excellent mileage, you'll get to skip the lines and get some great turns in, all the while being helped and given the tools to go away and get better!

  • What keeps you motivated to keep pushing your skiing?

    - Learning... always learning... Because there's no one single human on the planet that knows it all, about it all.

  • What’s one of your memorable skiing experiences?

    - So many countries, so many ski hills, so many epic people... Memories of huge, snorkel-worthy JAPOW days. Memories of cliff-dropping on Whistler Peak. Memories of massive groups of kids recklessly hooning down the Lindo in Japan. Memories of Steamboat-dry pow in the US. There - heaps.

  • What type of gear do you ski on and why?

    - I ski Augment 175 skis - because they're an epic Austrian race/all-mountain setup, and my boots are Atomic Redster Race boots... epic, stiff support and the narrow shell fit me well.
