Our Austrian ski instructor course in New Zealand is the only Austrian qualification in the Southern Hemisphere where you can complete Austrian Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Part 1 (Landes 1) in a single five-week course. Trained by Level 4 trainers in small groups, daily video analysis. It's a popular gap year ski instructor option for a straightforward reason: Your qualify in September and the whole European ski season is still ahead of you. The August–September timing also fits neatly around most career break and gap year schedules.
The Austrian Anwärter (Level 1 & 2) is one of the most respected ski instructor certifications, recognised at ski schools across Europe, North America, Asia, and beyond. You can sit the exam's in English too. No language barrier between you and your qualification.
Wanaka: The only place to train
Treble Cone sits above Lake Wanaka on the South Island. Long runs, serious terrain, uncrowded pistes, the kind of conditions that force you to focus on your technical skills. Cardrona Resorts, New Zealand's largest ski area's by skiable terrain, is also on your doorstep.
After a amazing day training on one of the most challenging mountains in the Southern Hemisphere, you can head into Wanaka for the local culture, food and bars for après. It makes a five-week course feel more like an adventure, it's a life changing experience.

Full payment is taken at checkout to secure your place; 6.5% of that amount is treated as a non-refundable deposit. If you cancel 60 days or more before departure, we refund the balance after deducting the 6.5% deposit and any bank or currency-conversion fees. Cancellations made 30–59 days out receive a 25% refund (we retain 75% plus fees), and cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable. Only one discount or promotional offer can be applied per booking unless we expressly state otherwise.

Schedule:
- Four full days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), 9:00 am – 3:00 pm with a 1-hour break)
- Please note that training days may be adjusted by Management in response to weather or snow conditions to ensure a safe and effective training environment.
