Takao Maruyama is known for his achievements and contributions as both a competitive skier and a trainer. Born in Hakuba, Nagano, Japan, Takao has been involved in skiing from a young age, participating in alpine skiing races through his college years. He boasts a notable track record having won multiple titles in the All Japan Technical Ski Championships with five first-place finishes between 2010 and 2015.

Takao is a highly respected trainer, having trained ski professionals from various countries. His coaching style and techniques are highly valued within the skiing community. His company, EN Resort in Japan, and Rookie Academy have partnered to run specialised camps, where he contributes to developing high-level skiing skills.

In addition to Takao, we are excited to welcome Shun Okumura as a special trainer.

Shun has been actively involved in the skiing industry from young age, competing both domestically in Japan and also internationally. He began his skiing career during his elementary school years and continued through college, eventually joining the national team. Shun has competed in various alpine skiing disciplines and has shown significant talent and dedication to the sport.

Shun’s achievements include outstanding performances in the All Japan Ski Technical Championships, where he secured second place in both 2023 and 2024.
